Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed legislation that would allow, not only retail and mobile sports betting, but online casino gambling and Internet poker.

On Wednesday January 22, it was revealed that Michigan gamblers will have to wait until at least 2021 to place wagers online with in-state operators.  This also means that mobile betting on College Football and the NFL for the regular 2020 season will only be available with sites like Jazz Sports and a host of other sites licensed in jurisdictions outside the US.  Sportsbooks are expected to open at state casinos this spring.

Michigan's regulators have estimated that rules to govern mobile sports betting, fantasy sports and online games will take at least a year.

FanDuel has yet to establish plans to operate mobile sports wagering in Michigan.
