WILL MINNESOTA WELCOME SPORTS BETTING IN THE NEAR FUTURE?
A series of bills at the Minnesota State Capitol would make sports betting legal at horse racing tracks, Native American casinos and even on mobile phones. Each of these stand very little chance of passing. That's because the powerful Tribes, who have significant sway with lawmakers in the state, mostly oppose language contained in the bills.
The one bill that has gained the most traction stipulates that mobile betting will only take place at establishments that host retail sportsbooks.
