WILL WISCONSIN WELCOME SPORTS BETTING IN THE NEAR FUTURE?

Wisconsin has a law that prohibits full-blown sports betting. Such laws would need to be repealed or amended and no bill was introduced this session.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said changing the state constitution is “a huge hurdle” but he is “open minded to talk about it.”

“I like the idea that 50 states get to make their own decision based on elected officials, who are closer to the people, than members of Congress,” Vos said of the ruling. “The (decision) has almost zero impact on Wisconsin as far as changing anything tomorrow.”

Legal sports betting won't be available for a good chunk of the 2019 NFL season either as voters will ultimately have to choose.  That's assuming any bill gets through the legislature.

Needless-to-say, gamblers from this state will need to rely on international websites to place all their NFL bets
