Tide Win Against Ole Miss - Week 4
The Tide (3-1) scored 18 points in a 14-minute span — one more than the team managed against South Florida last weekend — to pull away from the Rebels (3-1) in the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams.
“We told the players that we believe in our team and it was important for them to believe in each other,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said. “But there’s a responsibility that comes with that belief.”
Alabama was mostly a -6.5 to -7 favorite heading into this game.
Tide Fall Out of Top 10 First Time Since 2015
The Alabama Crimson Tide are out of the AP Top 10 for the first time since Sept. 27, 2015 following their Week 3 win.
Alabama survived an ugly 17-3 win against South Florida and lost to Texas the week before.
Prior to this drop, the Crimson Tide held a spot in the top 10 for 128 consecutive weeks.
Crimson Tide vs. Middle Tennessee (Week 1)
Saturday, Sep. 2 Middle Tennessee - We had Alabama as the -38 favorite and that's exactly where the oddsmakers opened the number. The Blue Raiders are 4-0 Against The Spread in their last 4 non-conference games but just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 vs. SEC. The Crimson Tide are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games.
Middle Tennessee's most shocking win last year was versus the Miami Hurricanes by two touchdowns, on the road no less. They took a hit on offense with a number of key contributors now gone, including quarterback Chase Cunningham. The defense lost one of its top components in Jordan Ferguson.
Alabama will come into this one with a new look offense and defense.
