While you will be unable to bet on the Draftkings app from the great state of Oklahoma, BetUS is accessible with its generous welcome bonus - a FREE $250 when you open your account with $200.

The US Supreme Court in 2018 opened the floodgates to allow sports betting in all 50 states.

Each state must amend its own laws to begin regulating and licensing.  Oklahoma is yet to do so.  Because Draftkings adheres to operating only in states that feature a regulatory framework, that company has opted to stay out of Oklahoma for the time being.

So while you may see plenty of Draftkings advertisements throughout March Madness, during NBA games and deep into the MLB season, and even during the Super Bowl, the options available are playing with sites based outside the state (BetUS has been in business since 1994 and welcomes those in Oklahoma to place bets) or rely on a local bookie. Both options allow for anonymity and therefore eliminate most privacy concerns.

It's interesting to note that sports wagering in Oklahoma goes well beyond its famed college football season. The Sooners were listed with odds of 40-1 to win the 2021 Men's College Basketball Championship.  The NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder franchise was playing some decent basketball and always attracts plenty of betting interest.

Both the Sooners and Cowboys were among the favorites to win the 2023 College Football Playoff Championship.

The Sooners made it into the Cheez It Bowl against FSU and lost by three points.

The Cowboys also lost in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl to Wisconsin.

There is some good news to report as BetUS has both teams with relatively short odds to win a title in 2024: Oklahoma 40-1 and Oklahoma State 50-1, each within the Top 20.

For anyone looking forward to playing on the Draftkings app from Oklahoma at a future date, don't hold your breath.  The state is currently embroiled in a fierce compact dispute with the tribes.  It is they who control pretty much all gaming activity in Oklahoma.
