On This Day Was Most Signups Ever for BetOnline, Highest Traffic Ever for Gambling911

Saturday August 27, 2022 marks a five-year milestone in the world of sports betting.

It was on this day that Floyd Mayweather took on UFC fighter Conor McGregor, and the rest is history.  BetOnline recorded its most signups in a single day while Gambling911.com had its highest traffic day ever.

"At one point there were one thousand visitors per minute coming to the G911 website," observed Gambling911.com Senior Editor Payton O'Brien.

Dave Mason of BetOnline celebrated this occasion via Twitter.

"Five year anniversary of the biggest new sign-up day in the history of @betonline_ag.  Not sure if we will ever beat that record. Also the five year anniversary of the biggest betting value of all time. Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather. Man what a fun event that was."

The fight generated 4.3 million domestic pay-per-view buys and more than $600 million in total revenue, Showtime announced soon after it aired.
