About This Series

Though LA had won the last two prior to Friday (May 31), Seattle won the previous eight.

Recent Performance

LA has won five of their last six but only half of their last ten.  They are two wins under .500.

Talk about a team imploding: The Mariners are 6-24 in their last 30 overall.

Saturday's Odds

The line on LA moved from -110 to -120.   The total was 9.5.

Saturday's Starting Pitcher Matchup

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels LH Andrew Heaney (0-0, 3.60 ERA) vs. Mariners LH Tommy Malone (1-1, 3.38)

Heaney is making his second start of the year after missing time with inflammation in his pitching elbow. Heaney, who turns 28 on Wednesday, settled for a no-decision against Texas in his season debut on Sunday, when he gave up two runs and two hits with eight strikeouts in five innings. Heaney went 0-2 with a 4.70 ERA in four starts against the Mariners last year and is 1-3 with a 3.76 ERA in seven career outings.

Milone allowed just two earned runs in each of his first two starts with the Mariners. The 32-year-old registered 13 strikeouts and issued just two walks over 10 2/3 innings in the outings, both of which were against the Rangers. Milone is 6-3 with a 5.54 ERA in 13 career starts versus the Angels and has been roughed up by Albert Pujols (11-for-25, seven doubles, one homer).

Friday's Odds

LA has jumped from -115 to -132.

Friday's Starting Pitcher Matchup

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels LH Tyler Skaggs (4-4, 4.40 ERA) vs. Mariners RH Mike Leake (3-6, 4.93)

Skaggs ended a stretch of three consecutive rough starts Saturday but settled for a no-decision against Texas despite scattering three hits over 5 2/3 scoreless innings. The 27-year-old Californian has done a good job keeping the ball in the park this year, serving up six home runs over 47 frames in nine turns, with half coming in a road loss to the Chicago Cubs on April 12. Skaggs owns a 2-2 record and 4.26 ERA in nine starts versus the Mariners.

Leake has lost six of his last seven decisions after winning his first two starts of the season, with the most recent setback coming at Oakland on Sunday. The 31-year-old Californian was tagged for five runs on three hits - two homers - and three walks in 6 2/3 innings in the defeat. Leake suffered a road loss against the Angels on April 21, when he yielded four runs and six hits - three blasts - in six frames to fall to 4-4 with a 3.88 ERA in eight career starts versus Los Angeles.

Friday's Outcome

Jay Bruce hit his 300th HR to help Mariners beat the Angels 4-3.
