Rough Start

The Chicago Cubs opened the season at 40-1 odds to win the 2021 World Series.  That's a middle-of-the-road team.  Those odds held even after heading into their series versus Milwaukee at 4-5.

The Under occurred in six of the first Cubs nine games with another a push.

Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com writes:

"The Cubs can pitch, but the offense is spotty once again. The newcomers have been impressive on the mound with Jake Arrieta, Zach Davies and Trevor Williams leading the team to its first three wins. One major bright spot is closer Craig Kimbrel, who has been fantastic so far."
