Summer is approaching though for many it feels like it’s already here. Baseball is in full swing and the NBA and NHL continue their postseasons.

The second-most popular global soccer event gets underway on Friday of the week and continues through this weekend and beyond. That would be Euro 2020 and bettors can get in on their early action.

Here’s a look at the best bets for this weekend.

MLB: Angels @ Diamondbacks

On Saturday, Los Angeles plays Arizona in Game 2 of a three-game weekend series. The pitching matchup says it all. The D-Backs Merrill Kelly has one of the worst ERAs among starting pitchers in the majors. He’s 2-6 overall and Arizona has lost each of his last five starts.

In those five starts, Kelly has given up 17 earned runs and his current ERA is now 5.12. He will go up against L.A.’s Alex Cobb who has a respectable 4-2 record but a 4.24 ERA. Cobb gave up five earned runs in his last start against Seattle, but the Angels still won.

The play here is on the total. Expect oddsmakers to set the total at 8.5 to 9 with these two starting pitchers. The Angels are 10th in runs scored too at 4.67 per game, which will lead to this game going Over.

Euro 2020

In one of the very first matches of Euro 2020, which is now also Euro 2021, early favorite England will take on Croatia. The Brits, along with France, are favored to win the entire tournament.

Before they can advance though, they will have to get through Group A. It’s not a stacked group by any means, but Croatia and Czech Republic will give England all it can handle. Plus, they’ll have to play Scotland which will be jacked up to play against its rival.

On Sunday, England draws Croatia first. The Brits are a -140 favorite to win, but as talented as this team is, they haven’t spent much time playing together. There is something to be said for team chemistry. Just ask Italy, which hasn’t lost an international match since Sept. 2018.

While England is the better team here, there is value on the draw at +250. It’s early in the tournament. England will play solid defense and Croatia will do everything it can to steal a game against a better team.

Bet the Draw at +250.

NBA: Phoenix @ Denver

On Sunday, the Suns will be in Denver for Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinal. It’s sure to be a favorite for any capper providing premium sports picks. Phoenix took Game 1 as four Suns starters scored 20 or more points led by Mikal Bridges’ 23. Chris Paul had 21 and 10 assists and Deandre Ayton had 20 and 10 rebounds.

NBA MVP Nikola Jokic of Denver led the Nuggets with 23 points and nine rebounds. One of the keys for the Suns was their incredible shooting, especially in the second half. Phoenix shot 54 percent from the field for the game and 64 percent in the second half.

Both teams can fill it up and that’s where the value is as long as you can get the right number. The Game 1 total opened below 220. Game 2’s total is already at 223.5. Even at that number, these are two offenses that can explode.

The Over has hit in seven of Denver’s last eight games and 12 of the Suns last 17. Play the Over up to 223.
