The line on this game was coming in at -330 after rising as high as -380.  Some 65% of those betting the moneyline here were backing the Yankees.

Baltimore is 1-7 in the last 8 meetings.

75% of the total action was on the OVER 8.5, a much better bet in terms of the risk vs. reward aspect. The total for this game did open at 9.  Only three of the last ten meetings between these two teams has stayed UNDER the current total.

It's even more dangerous taking the UNDER considering the OVER is 22-4 in the last 26 meetings in New York.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Orioles RH Nate Karns (2018: NR) vs. Yankee LH James Paxton (2018: 11-6, 3.76)

Karns will be appearing a regular-season game for the first time since May 19, 2017, having spent the rest of that year and all of 2018 recovering from an elbow injury. He struck out 152 batters in 139 2/3 innings over his last two seasons in the majors. The 31-year-old Texas Tech product is 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA in five career starts against the Yankees.

Paxton gave up four runs in five innings while losing his only prior Yankee Stadium start, which came last season. He is 2-0 with a 3.71 ERA in three career starts against the Orioles, including one matchup in Camden Yards last year when he fanned 10 batters in seven strong innings. The 30-year-old was 3-0 with a 2.08 mark in five spring training starts.
