Arizona Governor Polls: Latest Odds From the Books

The race between Republican Kari Lake, a former long time news anchor, and Democrat Katie Hobbs, Secretary of State since 2018, for Arizona Governor is a tight one.

Lake has the support of former U.S. President Donald Trump.  She has claimed that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump and would not have certified it if she had been Governor at the time.

BetOnline has Hobbs as a -130 favorite while Lake is at -110.

BetUS has Hobbs at +150 and Lake -225.  The BetUS odds are the only one's that have a candidate (Hobbs) at a better risk vs. reward ratio for a potential $15 payout on a $10 wager.

The most recent poll came out Aug.24-27 from Trafalgar Group, which tends to skew Republican.  That one had Lake up 1 point (47% to 46% vs. Hobbs).

A previous poll released August 16-22 by RMG Research had Hobbs down two points (44% vs. 46% for Lake).

According to the political analyst site FiveThirtyEight.com, Hobbs holds a nearly 2 point lead (46.4% vs. 44.5% for Lake) entering the month of September.

In the 2020 Presidential election, Joe Biden flipped the state from Republican to Democrat.  Arizona also elected two Democrats to its Senate.

Republican registrations, in fact, lead Democrats by 3.5% though it should be noted that one in every three voters are registered as Independent.  This is key as Independents tended to lean Democrat in 2020.

Lake is underperforming past Republican Candidates by 10% while Katie Hobbs is Outperforming Democrats by 5%.

Lake has significant support among non-college graduates and leads with older men and Hispanic voters.
