Antonio Margarito, the +210 odds underdog, has beaten Miguel Angel Cotto. For lucky Margarito bettors who had him winning in round 11, that one paid out 28-1 at Sportsbook.com. The Margarito TKO paid out 7 - 2 odds.

It was all Miguel Cotto the first two rounds but Margarito came out strong towards the end, dominating the final rounds.

Cotto was heavily favored to win by most experts though the odds makers and gamblers kept this one pretty close, sitting around +200 for Margarito much of the week and hours leading up to the fight.

From ESPN.com:

Antonio Margarito made Mexico proud Saturday night as he defeated former welterweight champion and rival Miguel Cotto, the hero from Puerto Rico. The power puncher -- Margarito -- pressured Cotto, then overpowered him. To sum up: A fight for the ages.

Antonio Margarito made Mexico proud Saturday night as he defeated former welterweight champion and rival Miguel Cotto, the hero from Puerto Rico. The power puncher -- Margarito -- pressured Cotto, then overpowered him. To sum up: A fight for the ages.

Margarito stopped Miguel Cotto in the 11th round, blemishing Cotto's unbeaten record and claiming the WBA 147-pound title with one last incredible barrage of punches.

Margarito (37-5, 27 KOs), the Mexican star so often ducked by the division's best fighters in recent years, dropped the Puerto Rican champion twice in the 11th after several rounds of relentless pressure at the MGM Grand Garden.

"I told my corner I would wear him down and then knock him out," said Margarito, who won his third welterweight belt. "He never hurt me, but that was the game plan, to come out early strong and to wear him down and knock him out. I got him with body shots, and then I hit him in the head, and then I knocked him out."

Gambling911.com recorded significant interest in this fight from gamblers coming into Saturday.
