The Alliance of American Football is a new professional American football league founded by Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian.

It debuts following one of the lowest rated Super Bowls in years, though wagering firms the likes of BetOnline confirmed Sunday was their biggest day in the company's 20 year history.

CBS drew an estimated 98.2 million viewers for the Patriots’ 13-3 victory over the Rams, which was down 5 percent from last year’s Patriots-Eagles Super Bowl on NBC.

That’s only half the story.  Vewership last year fell to 103.4 million, down from 111.3 million (Patriots-Falcons) in 2016.

Other variables leading to the low ratings include the relocated Rams lacking a loyal fan base and making into this year's Super Bowl following a controversial non-call in overtime versus the New Orleans Saints.  Not surprisingly, viewership in New Orleans was close to the lowest nationwide.  The Saints also have a loyal fan base in Mississipipi and Alabama.

Did we mention that folks are getting tired of seeing the Patriots playing in the Super Bowl year after year?
