We are a little more than 20 percent through the NHL season and now is a good time to look at how the point totals for every team have changed.

Some notes that accompany the chart below:

  1. The first point totals column is from 10/1/25, which is the last time I sent out point totals.
  2. The second point totals column is from today.
  3. 16 team totals went up.
  4. 14 team totals went down.
  5. Two teams totals stayed the same, the Panthers and Kings.
  6. These teams improved their point totals the most:
    1. Avalanche +12
    2. Ducks +11
    3. Blackhawks +10
    4. Penguins +9
    5. Kraken +7
  7. These teams point totals decreased the most:
    1. Predators -10
    2. Maple Leafs -10
    3. Blues -9
    4. Flames -7
    5. Canucks -7
  8. Interestingly, three of the top five biggest underachievers thus far are Canadian teams.
