California Governor Gavin Newsom ran an advertisement campaign in Florida over the Fourth of July weekend to encourage Floridians to move to his state.

"Join us in California," the ad enocurages.

Though Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is beginning to pull out ahead as the frontrunner on the Republican ticket, there are whispers that Newsom could be planning a run on the Democratic side, especially with U.S. President Joe Biden's popularity at an all-time low.  Biden is the current favorite to win the Democratic nomination but many believe he will not seek re-election.  His odds of being re-elected are longer than both DeSantis' and former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Newsom currently has the fifth shortest odds to win the Democratic nominee at 12-1.  DeSantis pays slightly better than EVEN odds to be the Republican nominee.

Newsom is running for reelection in California and DeSantis is running for reelection in Florida.  Both are favorites to win in their respective states but both are expected to seek the Presidential ticket as well.

Florida real estate values have shot up over the past year as more folks seek to relocate there.  Rents have also exploded throughout much of the state however.  Not that California is much better.
