An early look at this year's Kentucky Derby weather forecast suggests plenty of warm sun and that means a mostly dry track. The chance of rain is right around 10% as of midweek.

The key to winning your bets this weekend might be to select known mudders for Friday's Kentucky Oaks races.

Forcasters have rain coming down at Churchill Downs during the afternoon hours.  There is a 50% chance with the potential for stormy weather in the AM hours.

Horses that have run well on dirt (as opposed to mud or turf) should be considered for Saturday's Kentucky Derby.

More recent Kentucky Derby races have flirted with rain or featured actual downpours.  This one should be nice.
