These Are the 17 Sports Apps Coming to Colorado

Fans will have their pick of FanDuel, DraftKings, BetRivers, PointsBet and a host of other sports wagering sites when legal gambling kicks off this Friday May 1 in Colorado.

Casinos in Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek remain closed due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, so betting in person won’t be an option right out of the gate.

A total of 17 companies have obtained licenses but only four are set to go online Friday. These include BetRivers, BetMGM, FanDuel and Draftkings.

These are the sports betting apps and anticipted launch date:

BetMGM - May 1: BetMGM will be available for iOS and Android devices, and at betmgm.com.  This marks the fifth US state BetMGM enters.

BetRivers - May 1: BetRivers will be available for iOS and Android devices, and at betrivers.com. While few sports are taking place at the moment, BetRivers has already begun live streaming one that is: Table tennis.

DraftKings - May 1: DraftKings also plans to open a retail sportsbook at Black Hawk’s Golden Mardi Gras casino. It's app will be available for iOS and Android devices, and at draftkings.com.

FanDuel - May 1: It is the top sportsbook in the US in terms of handle and revenue.  The app will be available for iOS and Android devices, and at fanduel.com.

FoxBet - Late May: A partnership between Fox Sports and PokerStars, the company’s free-to-play Super 6 app, which allows users to make predictions in six specific games, will be available earlier than its late May anticipated real money betting launch.  FOX Bet will be available for iOS and Android devices

BetWild - Late May: This is a partnership between Internet Sports International and Wildwood Casino and will be available for iOS or Android devices.

SBK - Late May:  SBK is powered by a proprietary betting exchange that Jason Trost, CEO and founder of parent company Smarkets, claims has “the best odds in the world.”

Barstool Sportsbook - Q3: The app is currently under development.  Penn National Gaming acquired a 36% stake in the company late last year.  Bartstool Sportsbook will be available for iOS and Android devices, and online.

PointsBet - TBA: One of the first companies to obtain a sports betting license in the state and the first to set up offices Downtown, PointsBet also plans to open a retail sportsbook at Double Eagle Hotel and Casino in Cripple Creek.  Its app is likely to come this spring or summer.  PointsBet is available for iOS and Android devices, and at pointsbet.com.

BetAmerica - TBA: Owned by Churchill Downs Inc, little details are known regarding the app.

Betfred - TBA: The UK-based sportsbook firm makes its US debut in conjuction with Saratoga Casino in Black Hawk.

Circa Sports Colorado - TBA: Circa Sports launched in Las Vegas with two retail outlets.  It will be available for iOS or Android devices, and at circasports.com.

WSI US -TBA:  A wholly-owned subsidiary of Las Vegas-based Wynn Resorts, received an internet sports betting operator license in Colorado, but has yet to disclose details about its digital platform.
