The Cincinnati Bengals have punched their ticket into the playoffs. Their current odds of winning Super Bowl 57 sit at between 7-1 and 8-1 depending on the sportsbook.
The Bengals held off the Patriots to win their Christmas weekend game 22-18.
Joe Burrow threw three touchdown passes, the Bengals offense had nearly 500 yards, but the ultimate win only occurred after the defense forced a late turnover in the red zone.
“We got to do a better job on offense of putting teams away,” Burrow said. “Teams that want to win the Super Bowl put them away a little earlier.”
"It wasn't perfect at all times," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor offered. "There were some really good moments and some moments we've got to improve on. But at the end of the day, December 24, getting out of here with a win is a big deal. So we're going to find a way to correct the negatives and focus on the positives and get ready for Monday night against Buffalo."
This was also the Bengals seventh straight victory following two dismal losses to start the season. Cincinnati clinched a playoff berth by virtue of the New York Jets’ loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday.
As of Christmas Day, the Bengals owned the 3rd best power rating on Sagarin after Kansas City and Buffalo.
