Well a few of my picks are still in this wild tourney and Sunday will be great theater on Fathers Day in the 117th US Open, with many Dad's including myself parked on the couch and watching today .
The players are tearing up Erin Hills despite the top 3 golfers in the world missing the cut. Ricky Fowler went 7 deep on day one, Patrick Reed (one of my longshot picks) fired a 65 on Saturday, and one of my Top 5 picks Justin Thomas broke a US Open record for the lowest round to par in the 117 year history of this tourney firing a 63 on Saturday, breaking Johnny Millers record that has held since 1973.
A ton of good guys are hovering at the top on a soft golf course which is yielding birdies like crazy. 3 of my selections in m article this week are leading or are within 2 of the lead in what should be a down to the wire finish, which I did predict earlier this week.
I would not be shocked is this ends in a tie and we may see on Monday 18 hole playoff. The USGA cannot be happy with this scoreboard being so many strokes under par as they set up any US Open venue to set the players up to fail and it is a war of attrition and not a shootout like a regular Sunday PGA Tour event. I assume the length will long with the tee box locations and the pins tricked out,and word is the wind will be a factor today. Anything can happen - who handles it well coming down the stretch will win it.

Can someone not on this list win it - Yes, but it would be a miracle almost the way the guys listed are playing right now. I avoided Ricky Fowler all week including my pre-tourney picks and I am sticking with that as he simply is not a closer but I have no doubt he has the game to win it. I am not convinced he can execute down the stretch but have no illusions, he can win and will be a popular choice. I have 4 selections for Sunday I am wagering and spreading it around slightly. .
