Rory McIlroy won the U.S. Open for his first major, breaking tournament records at 16-under 268.  He had led throughout the tournament and opened at 20 to 1 coming into the four-day event.  The payout would have been $2000 for every $100 bet plus bonus money of $250 at Bookmaker.

The 22-year-old from Northern Ireland carried an eight-stroke lead into the final round on Sunday.  Up to this point, McIlroy was known for squandering big leads in Masters events.  Earlier in the year, he watched a four-stroke lead crumble entering the last round of the US Masters, ultimately losing to South Africa's Charl Schwartzel,

"Rory is out there making it look incredibly easy. He hasn't put a foot wrong," said defending champion Graeme McDowell of his compatriot. "Once I step out on the 18th, it's a chance to get a cold beer and watch the wee man do it."
