"I still have some weak links in my game that I have to work on, but hopefully little by little, I'll be able to improve and to fix what I need to, and hopefully some day compete for No. 1."

Oddsmakers had Jordan Spieth off a half point from favorite status along with Dustin Johnson at +450 for a potential payout of $45 on every $10 bet.

Spieth also expressed optimism heading into 2017.

"Overall, recognizing that if last year is a down year for us, we’re in really good shape long term when you start compiling those numbers," Spieth said. "It makes me think a lot more positive about last season and my career going forward, just looking at it from a more elongated perspective.”

Patrick Reed was coming in at 8/1 odds.

Justin Thomas and Bubba Watson were each coming in at +1350 odds.
