Missouri vs. Memphis Sweet 16 NCAA Tournament betting odds opened at Memphis -4 ½ at BetUS.com.  Memphis was the third most bet on team of the 2009 NCAA Tournament heading into the Sweet 16 play.  80 percent of the spread action was going the Tigers way according to data obtained by Gambling911.com Monday night.  80 percent of the money line action was also on Memphis to win outright.

Trends suggest that Memphis is a very good bet, at least in the first half where the line was .  In the first half in road games after scoring 80 points or more Tigers -2 ½, Missouri has an astonishing record of 0 wins and 9 losses.

"I like Memphis to crush Missouri" stated Point-Spreads.com Publisher Thomas Jensen when asked to comment on the Missouri Tigers Final Four Picks, Odds & Predictions. "I believe you can achieve great things if you put your mind to it just like Zaire Taylor does but it won't be enough to get past Memphis this week. Missouri goes home packing on Friday."

Memphis advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third straight year.

The Tigers shot a season-high 58.5 percent from the field for the game.

The Tigers now have eight wins in the first and second rounds of the NCAA tourney over the past five years.

"Everybody was hitting out there," said Shawn Taggart, who had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the start-to-finish domination of the 10th-seeded Terps. "I mean everybody. We were out there shooting the ball very well, and defense was on point today."

Sallie, the surprise hero of Thursday's hard-fought victory over No. 15 seed Cal State Northridge, came off the bench and kept up his 3-point onslaught by hitting his first three, making him 13-for-19 for the tourney.

But in the meantime, Tyreke Evans scored 19 points and was one of five Tigers with at least 13.

"For me, watching collge basketball all my life and now I'm actually here," said the freshman point guard. "But we've still got business to do in trying to win a championship."

Missouri, meanwhile, advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2002 (when they reached the Elite 8).
