Gambling911.com has released its 2008 Week 3 NFL Power Rankings along with odds for each of the top teams and changes from last week courtesy of SBG Global, which was offering future betting odds on which team will win the 2009 Super Bowl. The number in (parentheses) is last week's ranking.
1. (1) Dallas Cowboys - Once again, the Dallas Cowboys were ranked number one by Gambling911.com. They still promised at potential $300 pay day for every $100 bet at SBG Global if they were to win the 2009 Super Bowl. Dallas is also playing solid teams and do so again this week in a matchup against the Washington Redskins. Dallas is being tested in the best division out there to be certain.
2. (2) New York Giants - And speaking of the toughest division, look who's at number 2 for the second straight week: It's the reigning Super Bowl champion New York Giants who come into Week 4 without a loss. Still no respect from the odds makers who have them as +1000 long shots to win the 2009 Super Bowl. Hold off on this one. Chances are if the Giants lose, they'll immediately find themselves with much longer payout odds. Then again, as the weeks move on, they may just sit with single digit odds. Right now could very well be a good time to bet this solid team. The Giants would pay out $1000 for every $100 bet and that is some terrific value considering they sit ranked right near the top once again. And, believe us, they are being slightly nudged from that number one position by the Cowboys, who at times have looked more vulnerable.
3. (6) Philadelphia Eagles - Everyone is in consensus that the Eagles should be in the number 3 spot following a gritty win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They played well the week before in Dallas despite a loss. Philadelphia is looking really good early on. They will be playing the Chicago Bears on the road this week, another game they can win.
4. (11) Tennessee Titans - Say what? This team just shot into the top 10 from the number 11 spot last week but everyone from ESPN to Fox Sports to the Sagarin Ratings (which most odds are based on) agree that the Titans are 4th ranked and deservedly so after starting the season 3-0 with a very solid defense and Kerry Collins leading the way as quarterback. Oh, and they are leading the Colts/Jaguars dominant AFC South by 2 wins. SBG Global has Tennessee paying $1500 for every $100 bet if they were to go on to win the 2009 Super Bowl.
5. (9) Denver Broncos - Another 3-0 team that has looked solid thus far and the odds favor them going 4-0 after this week's play against the Kansas City Chiefs. Broncos would pay $1000 for every $100 bet if they were to win the Super Bowl.
6. (8) San Diego Chargers - This 1-2 team should probably be 3-0 - certainly 2-1 after having a game declared stolen from them due to admitted bad officiating. Still a darling of odds makers, the Chargers would pay $800 for every $100 bet to win the 2009 Super Bowl. But be forewarned: This is probably the best payout number you'll be getting this season on San Diego so Gambling911 advises betting them now.
7. (12) Buffalo Bills - There is no denying this 3-0 team has been playing great football during the first three games of the season despite nearly losing one at home to Oakland last weekend. It's the Bills - not the Patriots - that lead the AFC East so far. Who would have thunk it? There is a $2000 pay day on the line for every $100 bet if the Bills win the Super Bowl.
8 (5) Pittsburgh Steelers - They lost in Philly and looked vulnerable. Still, the Steelers are a good team with +1200 odds of winning the 2009 Super Bowl.
9 (3) New England Patriots - A big drop off from last week. The season can go south in a hurry if they don't shake off the humiliating loss to the Dolphins, points out ESPN.com. The Patriots have lost their mojo without Tom Brady. They better find an infusion from another source straight away. Their odds of winning the 2009 Super Bowl were now at 16 to 1.
10 (4) Indianapolis Colts - Another huge drop. We probably expect to see them in the top ten again after this week though since they have a bye and we could see a team like Pittsburgh or New England fall out.

13 (18) Washington Redskins
