The 2008 Week 1 NFL odds analysis showed that the betting public were all over the Dallas Cowboys and the bookies were scared - very scared...moving the line from Dallas -3 to -6 and up. Super Book had this one at -6. The chances were good that the Cowboys would cover here. Dallas would probably be the most bet on team of the day Sunday after the Jets it appeared.

The Arizona Cardinals were also getting heavy action by afternoon. 75 percent on Arizona and very few bookmakers were reacting. For the most part this line was being held at -2 ½. A few books were moving this one to Arizona -1. They were the road favorite. It appeared as if bookies were thinking San Francisco could win this one.

Carolina was getting action but it was not as lopsided.

The night game between the Colts and Bears was starting to generate some interest by 3 pm. Indianapolis was getting the 4th most action prior to 4 pm and heavy action was expected after 4 pm. But early on 83 percent of action was on Indianapolis with no line move. Gambling911.com was giving Chicago a better than 60 percent chance of covering the -9 ½ line here.
