What we like is that neither starting pitcher has performed well against the opposing team in the series.
Reds RH Homer Bailey (8-4, 4.39) enjoyed a 4-0 victory against the Giants on Sunday after allowing zero hits in seven innings. He eventually allowed three. He has also permitted 11 runs in a three-game win streak.
But Bailey has struggled against the Brewers where he is 4-7 with a 5.24 ERA in 18 starts.
The Brewers RH Matt Garza (5-5, 4.10 ERA) is 1-3 with a 5.45 ERA in seven all-time starts against the Reds. He had his first win in four starts despite one of his worst efforts.
The OVER is 8-3 in Garza's last 11 starts with the total set at 7.0-8.5 and 8-2-1 in Brewers last 11 games as an underdog of +110 to +150.
The OVER is 6-0 in Bailey’s last 6 starts after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game, 8-1 in Baileys last 9 starts vs. National League Central, 6-1 in Baileys last 7 starts with 5 days of rest and is 11-5 in Baileys last 16 starts as a favorite.
