The Miami Dolphins regular season wins total odds for 2014 had the UNDER 8 slightly favored with a price of -120 compared to the -110 on the OVER at AceSportsbook.com.
Last year the Dolphins finished 8-8, which was 3rd best in the AFC East.
That was an impressive feat considering the "bullying" controversy that surrounded this squad along with the fact that Miami finished at the bottom half in the league for passing yards, rushing yards, defending the pass and defending the run.
The good news for Miami is that most of the players tied to last year’s “bullying” matter have since left the team.
The one bright spot in the Dolphins organization last year was starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who improved dramatically last season. He threw 24 touchdowns and had 17 interceptions.
This isn’t a bad team on paper. Brian Hartline lead the team in receptions and yards last season (76 catches, 1016 yards). Charles Clay went for 69 receptions, 759 yards, and six touchdowns.
LSU wide receiver Jarvis Landry was one of the biggest names to come out of this year's Draft and he's sure to boost production for Tannehill.
Here is a look at the Dolphins schedule. USAToday has their schedule as the 12th toughest in the league. They will play in six games against playoff teams from last season. Four of those games will be played in Miami (vs. Chiefs, Patriots, Packers and Chargers). Outside of the Patriots, the other three teams all appeared vulnerable heading into last year’s post season.
On paper at least, if this Dolphins team is even slightly improved over last year, they should easily be able to walk away with OVER 8 regular season victories.
