Though online poker traffic fell 0.7 percent this past week, there could be a strong boost over these next few days with frigid temperatures pushing all the way down to South Florida.

In Miami Beach, the wind chill made it feel like the low 20’s.  Few people ventured outdoors during the evening hours.  And this was the South Florida warm spot.  The cold spell was expected to last through Thursday morning before warming back up into the seasonal 70’s.

Of course those in the Northern US have little pity.  In New York City and Chicago, wind chill temperatures made it feel like zero degrees or below.

Among the top ten online poker sites this past week, there were five gainers and five losers according to PokerScout.com, a website that monitors player traffic.

Full Tilt Poker, the world’s second biggest Web card room, fell 4.5 percent.
