Doyle Brunson Watch: Legend Makes it to Final Table of WSOP 2018 Event

Gambling911.com has your latest WSOP 2018 updates including the legend Doyle Brunson making it to the final table of Event #23: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship.

Just eleven players remain in the tournament including Doyle, and the ten-time bracelet winner is by no means the shortest heading into the final day. A total of 24 bracelets have been won by the remaining eleven players, with just four players — Shawn Sheikhan, Galen Hall, Dario Sammartino and James Alexander — yet to achieve poker's biggest goal.

The chipleader is Mike Wattel, who scooped some vital pots to be the only player bagging over one million, well clear of his nearest competitor. The seating and chip counts as players head into the final day is as follows.

The 84-year-old has an opportunity to walk away with $259,670 and a bracelet.

Brunson planned to retire from playing professional poker after this year to spend more time with his wife.

Jeremy Wien Wins $5K Big Bling Ante No-Limit Hold’em - The derivatives trader from New York needed to take more time off from work than he planned because he bested a field of 518 players to win his first WSOP title and $537,710 in the $5,000 big blind ante no-limit hold'em tournament.

“It’s pretty surreal,” said Wien. “It’s not what I do for a living, but I come out here for a few tournaments every summer, sometimes as many as 15 or so. You know, I got close to a final table once a few years ago, I’ve had a few cashes, but other than that, nothing crazy. I never actually expected it to happen, even though I’ve dreamed about it. I’ve given my bracelet ceremony speech a few times in my head.”

Final Table Results:

1st: Jeremy Wien - $537,710
2nd: David Laka - $332,328
3rd: Eric Blair - $228,307
4th: Jake Schindler - $159,575
5th: John Amato - $113,510
6th: Shawn Buchanan - $82,199
7th: David Peters - $60,618
8th: Richard Tuhrim - $45,538
9th: Patrick Truong - $34,862

Philip Long Wins $1500 Eight-Game Mix - London, England's Philip Long has claimed the first World Series of Poker bracelet of his career in winning Event #22 of the 2018 WSOP, $1,500 Eight Game Mix.

Long's triumph was worth $147,348 and represents the second-largest cash of his WSOP career. The 29-year-old UK pro was previously best known for a 29th-place finish in the 2013 WSOP Main Event, where he earned $229,281, a figure that remains his career best.

Final Table Payouts (POY points in parentheses):
