Another Black Friday Defendant, Ira Rubin, to Plead Guilty

Ira Rubin, a defendant in the April 15, 2011 “Black Friday” sweeping indictments of online poker operators, is set to plead guilty, according to Bloomberg News. A Manhattan federal court clerk advised the news source.

Rubin was one of the 11 people indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice on illegal gambling, fraud, and money laundering charges. Three of the largest online poker rooms, Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and UB.com, were forced to exit the US market as a result. Dozens of bank accounts connected to the three gambling enterprises were also seized. Rubin is charged with processing payments to and from the three online poker companies.

Rubin had previously gotten himself into trouble with the FTC for an alleged telemarketing scheme.
