You may have heard there is severe weather across the United States this Friday as Major League Baseball returns from the All Star Break and kicks off the second half of the season. Let's look at some likely impacted games.
Marlins-Orioles - Scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast throughout game time. These should clear out by 10 pm. Anticipate a delay at some point but the game is likely to be played.
Baltimore comes into this one as the -125 favorite. Both teams have nearly identical records (Marlins 53-39 and Orioles 54-35). Miami is 6-2 in the series dating back to 2020. Baltimore comes into this one having won five straight to close out the first half of the season. The Marlins had won half of their last ten games.
Red Sox-Cubs - Another night of severe weather for the Chicago area is in store it appeared as of Friday night. There is around a 40% chance of scattered storms in the area at any point during this game. This one stands more of a chance of being postponed, especially if the potential for severe weather increases.
Rays-Royals and Nationals-Cardinals - With tornadoes in the forecast for both Kansas City and St. Louis, we are looking at a pretty strong chance of both games being postponed, so monitor closely.
Dodgers-Mets - This one is likely to be impacted by storms.
