US President Donald Trump reportedly told Republican lawmakers he planned to fire Chair of the Reserve, Jerome Powell, but claimed otherwise during a press conference on Wednesday. Under the Federal Reserve Act, the Fed Chair (like all Board members) can only be removed “for cause”. Trump has touched on the idea that Powell may have misappropriated funds for the upgrading of an office, but it remains to be seen whether the president will carry through with pursuing this matter any further. Powell has just under a year left on his four-year term. We also have the latest betting markets for Jeff Epstein, the Open Championship, an upcoming UFC card and much more for Thursday July 17, 2025. Last 24 Hours Gambling911 Impressions: 58,411.
