Gambling911.com has learned that the imprisoned former CEO of BetOnSports, David Carruthers, is in frail mental health.  He is currently serving a 33 month sentence in a Missouri prison for money laundering and other criminal activities stemming from his stint at BOS.

Carruthers had been under house arrest in a posh hotel and even trained for a marathon, however, the house arrest was not counted as time served as part of his sentence.

By comparison, BetOnSports founder Gary Kaplan is set to be released from prison shortly after serving barely one year behind bars.

Carruthers, a citizen of the United Kingdom, was apprehended in the summer of 2006 while changing flights in Fort Worth, Texas between London and Costa Rica, where BetOnSports had once operated.

BetOnSports, once the largest online sportsbook in Costa Rica, shut down after indictments were handed down against Carruthers and nearly a dozen other company officials.

Sadly, most of Carruthers peers have forgotten about him and he is said to be in a deep depression.

“People in the industry should make an attempt to reach out to David, but most of them are just greedy bastards who can care less if he is rotting away in prison,” said one individual familiar with David’s state of mind.
