Today is Friday The 13th, in case you forgot to mark it down on your calendar.  It's also a day leading into one of the most bet on events of the year, the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament (better known as March Madness).

"There is nothing wrong with placing a bet on Friday The 13th," explained Payton O'Brien, Matriarch of the Gambling911.com website.  "Just don't bet $13 on any game and you should still win and, while you're at it, avoid walking under ladders."

On that note, Gambling911.com is throwing a winning pick out there just to show how lucky Friday The 13th can actually be.

"Play the Under Florida State on the first half - 62 ½," O'Brien said.  "They are 2-13 this season when the first half total is 60.5 to 65.5."

Odds were courtesy of Sportsbook.com which is giving 13 percent back on losses this month.

There are three Friday The 13th's this year and so far 2009 is turning out to be one of the most painful years in terms of the economy.  Last month also featured a Friday The 13th.

Here are a few Friday the 13th tidbits:  Hospitals do not have a Room 13 nor do most hotels have a 13th floor. President Franklin D. Roosevelt would not travel on the 13th day of any month and would never host 13 guests at a meal. Napoleon and President Herbert Hoover were also triskaidekaphobic, with an abnormal fear of the number 13.  And Mark Twain was once a 13th dinner guest at a feast that only had enough food to serve 12. Superstitious diners in Paris can hire a quatorzieme, or professional 14th guest.  That still won't help the situation if there isn't enough food though.
