Michael H. Berkens of TheDomains.com has confirmed that attorney David Gzesh purchased and put up for sale online gambling domain names previously seized by US authorities.

Gambling911.com picked up on this story over the weekend.  The domains were seized as part of a sting operation conducted in part by the US Attorney’s Office in Maryland.  These include DoylesRoom.com and Bookmaker.com.  Gzesh also owns and has put up for sale goldenarchcasino.com.  He would not disclose the price paid for said domains.

“The Court presiding over the civil forfeiture matter filed by the government concerning the 10 domain names approved the transaction,” Gzesh disclosed to Berkens.

“The proceeds of the acquisition transaction went to the US government.

“There is no restriction on their use going forward, in the US or elsewhere, except that use may not violate US law.”

“The domains now belong to US Poker Marketing Affiliate, LLC,” he added, referring to the company he owns.

The previous owners may have little interest since Bookmaker switched over to the new industry standard of .EU and they now appear listed in the top placement for searches conducted in Google News for “Bookmaker”.

That said, the former owners of Bookmaker.com may wish to purchase this domain as a means of preventing so-called “cybersquatting”.

Gambling911.com has confirmed that operators were aware of the Gzesh purchase but did not know he was going to sell the domains in such a short period of time.
