AOL Travel this weekend listed the 5 best casinos in Las Vegas.  In no particular order, AOL Travel names the MGM Grand, Bellagio, Venetian, Mandalay Bay and Caesar’s Palace.  Notably absent from the list is none other than the Wynn Encore, even though it is among the newest.

AOL Travel says of the MGM Grand: “Las Vegas casinos are known for their recognizable design and décor and the MGM Grand is no exception. Enter the building by passing near an 88-foot gold lion and enjoy a massive gaming area including Majestic Lions progressive slots that pay out three-quarters of a million dollars daily.”

The MGM Grand is among the least pricey of the five listed, with an average nightly stay costing around $159 during the second weekend in November.

The Bellagio gets points for its Bobby’s Poker Room, offering the highest limit poker action in the world, and its casino being a “mecca for high rollers and elite players”.  There is also a high-limit area called Club Prive, adorned with an art deco-inspired lounge.

The Venetian has one of the biggest poker rooms found in any Las Vegas casino along with 139 other table games.  It also features a gondola ride through canals and under romantic bridges.

In the Mandalay Bay you will have an opportunity to discover North America’s only predator-themed aquarium, the Shark Reef.  The casino features a tropical theme complete with flowing water fountains.  Additionally, they offer free poker lessons at 2:00pm Monday through Thursday.

Caesars Palace – AOL Travel says:  “If slots is your game, you'll enjoy a wide variety ranging in denomination from a penny to $500. If you prefer the tables, you will have plenty of opportunity to test your skill at one of the many regular or high-stakes tables available at Caesar's Palace.”
