The Rose Bowl TCU vs. Wisconsin spread continued to hold at -3 in favor of Texas Christian.  That is where the line opened a few weeks back and there has been zero movement.  Wisconsin was getting 80 percent backing on the spread and nearly all the money line action.  The total was at 57.5 with 65 percent backing on the OVER.

BetUS.com analysts gave their outtake on what should take place during Saturday’s New Year’s Day Rose Bowl between TCU and Wisconsin.

TCU comes into this game without a loss while Wisconsin had one loss during the regular season.  This should be an exceptional game.

There are not a whole lot of trends that favor either team.  The Horned Frogs are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a favorite of 0.5-3.0.  The Badgers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games overall.  Wisconsin is also 2-6 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games.

“This spread dipped a bit in the weeks leading up to New Year’s Day, dropping to 2.5 before going back to a field goal. Some bettors were surprised the Big Ten co-champs were underdogs to the Mountain West studs. However, TCU has plenty to prove after posting an undefeated season and getting beat in last year’s Fiesta Bowl.

“The Horned Frogs have one of the most explosive offenses in the land, scoring an average of over 43 points an outing. The running game ranks ninth in the NCAA, with running backs Ed Wesley and Matthew Tucker, as well as dual-threat QB Andy Dalton, helping the Horned Frogs pick up 260.5 yards per game. That rushing attack will be of extra importance in keeping the ball away from the Badgers offense Saturday.

“Wisconsin is notorious for slowing down the pace and eating up clock, ranking second among BCS conference members in time of possession. The Badgers throw a three-pronged ground attack at opponents, with Montee Bell, John Clay and James White sharing carries. That potent trio opens up passing for quarterback Scott Tolzien, who quietly led the Big Ten in completion percentage and QB rating while throwing just six interceptions all season.”
