The UK’s third biggest bookmaker, Paddy Power, has apologized Tuesday for retweeting a Twitter user who asked if they could place a wager on the OVER/UNDER number of player heart attacks during Monday’s Manchester City v Manchester United game.

“Can you place bets on player heart attacks at football matches?” the tweet asked.

Paddy blamed its own retweet of the sickening question on “human error”.

Ken Robertson, head of communications at Paddy Power, told Marketing Magazine the issue was "simply one of human error in which one of our team misinterpreted the original tweet and mistakenly published it".

Some, like Emma Bennett of Ashton-under-Lyne aren’t buying the flimsy Paddy excuse.

“Human error my arse!!!  What a bunch of bobbins!” she exclaimed.  “Have these people no shame?”
