Kansas City comes into this game on an absolute high, having won 11 straight and shutting out Houston in their first playoff win in 22 years.  They own a 12-5 record Straight Up and 9-8 record Against The Spread.  The Chiefs, however, have covered in 7 of their last 10 games.  New England, meanwhile, is 12-4 with an ATS record at .500.

The Chiefs actually dismantled New England last season 41-14 at home.  One can only imagine that the Patriots have revenge fresh on their minds.  That might not matter much as New England will enter this game riddled with injuries.  The good news for the Pats is that Julian Edelman is set to make his return Saturday.

Bill Belichick's team dropped four of its final six after winning its first 10 and managed just 196 total yards - its fewest since 2010 - in a 20-10 loss at Miami in the regular-season finale.

"I think the more dependable, consistent players that are out there, the better our offense is going to be. (Edelman's) been one of them for as long as he's been here," Brady said. "Depending on what he can do we'll try to find ways to integrate him.

The Patriots haven't lost three in a row since a four-game skid in 2002 but are  are 0-4-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.

Action on this game was relatively balanced.

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
