Soccer fans and sports bettors alike are asking the question:  What time does the World Cup start?

The answer is 9:30 am EST (opening coverage) in the US (on ESPN) and 3:30 pm Friday throughout most of Europe.  London and Dublin the starting time is 2:30 pm on Friday.  Cape Town starting time is also 3:30 pm.

The first matchup will be South Africa vs. Mexico.

Mexico was at +150 on the money line while South Africa was at +180.  A $10 bet would pay out $15 should Mexico win and $18 should South Africa win.  The masses like South Africa at Sportsbook.com.

France v. Uruguay was the second matchup of the day with just shy of 80 percent backing France with a money line of +105 paying just better than even odds. Uruguay would pay out $26 for every $10 bet with a win.
