(Gambling911.com Sports Wire) – The Tigers vs. Rays betting line for Wednesday had Tampa Bay as a -180 at some books.  BetOnline was offering Tampa Bay at -171.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Tigers RH Justin Verlander (0-3, 5.57 ERA) vs. Rays RH Chris Archer (9-7, 2.67)

Verlander showed some progress last time out when he held Boston to one run on seven hits over eight innings without getting a decision.  He is 6-3 with a 3.71 ERA in 13 career starts against the Rays.

Archer is winless in his last five starts, but the North Carolina native has limited opponents to two or fewer runs in three of those turns.   He is is 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA in three career outings against Detroit. 

The Tigers are just 1-7 in their last 8 road games.
