How do the MLB teams rank right now?  Let's take a look.  This is a current hotness ranking.

  1. San Diego Padres
  2. New York Yankees
  3. Arizona Diamondbacks
  4. Minnesota Twins
  5. Kansas City Royals
  6. San Francisco Giants
  7. Baltimore Orioles
  8. Boston Red Sox
  9. New York Mets
  10. Milwaukee Brewers
  11. Cleveland Guardians
  12. St. Louis Cardinals
  13. Tampa Bay Rays

The Philadelphia Phillies and LA Dodgers both have solid winning records at the moment but are each in a funk at the moment.  Philadelphia is showing signs of momentum in recent days while the Atlanta Braves fall out of our rankings on Friday.

Guardians @ Twins

The Guardians may be 8-2 in this series versus the Minnesota Twins, but we will want to avoid Cleveland at this time.  They have taken quite a hit in our Power Rankings as of Friday with five straight losses.

The Twins, meanwhile, are 6-4 in their last ten though they did lose to straight to the Cubs coming into this series.

Cleveland did not have a starter listed as of Friday AM.

Minnesota will start Bailey Ober, who is 14-for-56 in hits allowance versus these Guardians. Andres Gimenez is just 1-for-11 against him. Jose Ramirez offsets this with one homer versus Ober and three RBIs in 13 at bats (.385).

Ober allowed two runs with seven strikeouts over seven innings in a win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Orioles @ Rays

Baltimore is 8-1 in the last nine games facing Tampa Bay.  The Rays are actually playing slightly better than Baltimore at the moment though both teams are performing maybe slightly better than .500 over their last ten appearances.  Baltimore has certainly cooled off a bit while Tampa Bay is holding their own in recent weeks.

Zach Eflin allowed two runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings in a win over the Guardians on Sunday.  He's won his last two starts.

Orioles career statistics vs. Zack Littell are .307 in a hefty sampling of 75 at bats.

Littell allowed one run on four hits in 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Astros on Saturday and is also coming off of two straight victories.

Gunnar Henderson is 5-for-10 against him with two home runs scored.

The total opened at 8 at some books and has moved down to 7.5.  Six of the last ten in this series have gone Over the 7.5. Baltimore has scored 6 or more in four of their last five games overall.

The Over 7.5 is quite enticing here.
