Phil Ivey Falls Short in $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em

Though Ivey did not win a bracelet, no need to shed any tears.  He cashed at just shy of $1.2 million.

Latvia's Aleksejs Ponakovs beat Ivey to win the bracelet and the $1,897,363 grand prize.

Ponakovs had won $3,318,328 prior to this time.

Ponakovs had a 33rd-place finish from the 2013 WSOP Main Event.

Despite the significant live career haul over the years, Ponakovs had never won a WSOP bracelet before this event.

“I never had victory in live tournaments,” Ponakovs told PokerGO reporters after coming out on top. “Finally I did it. Nothing could be better at the moment.”
