While it's true ahead of the August 4 start of the Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates series that Pittsburgh has won the last three meetings and four of the last six, the Brewers have still been hot in the last 30 games of the series, winning all but eight. One should certainly consider betting the Brewers in this series even though the Pirates kicked it off by winning the first two games.
Brewers Pitching vs. Pirates
Wednesday night's game has Freddy Peralta rejoining the Brewers' rotation Wednesday against the Pirates, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. He last started on May 22 and finished with a loss. Peralta had won his previous three starts. He has been nursing a shoulder injury.
Thursday has Brandon Woodruff starting. He has allowed 20 hits in 90 at bats with just two home runs. He's 2.28 versus Pirates hitters. Ben Gamel has stuggled against him, going just 2-for-11 while Bryan Reynolds is an abysmal 1-for-14 against him.
Woodruff is 4-0 with a 2.06 ERA in his last six starts since returning from injury.
The Brewers had a three-game lead in the division and now return the third of their aces.
