Should I Bet the Reds in Philadelphia? Series Head to Head Record

You might be wary of betting the Cincinnati Reds in their series in Philadelphia this coming week (July 15-17), but there is value to be had when we look at the recent head-to-head history.

The Reds are 6-2 in the last eight games versus Philadelphia.  Some of those have been won on the road.

The Phillies should have a steep price.  They were winning 80% of their games heading into the weekend, Cincinnati was winning 40% of theirs.

Mike Minor is slated to start for the Reds Monday and he's scary to bet on.  Minor was tagged for the loss in his last start, lasting 5.1 innings.  He allowed four runs and five hits against the Mets Tuesday.

As of the day this was getting published, we didn't know the starting pitchers the remaining days of this series.  But let's take a look at who could be starting.

Graham Ashcroft - 5-2, 3.94 - Graham Ashcraft pitched 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball Sunday against the Brewers.  He did not factor into the decision but won his previous start.

Nick Lodolo - 3-4, 4.72 - Lodolo surrendered four runs over 4 2/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the Cubs.  He is likely to get a start against Philadelphia in this series.  This represented his first loss in his last five starts.

The Problem

There will be some great prices for the Reds but the starting pitchers have very little experience when it comes to going up against Phillies batters.

Heading into the Field of Dreams game, Lodolo failed to pitch past the fifth inning in his three road starts. He also struggles with control.

We here at Gambling911.com won't be spending too much time studying the Reds, but the Lodolo start is one to monitor the line and check out the opposing starting pitcher.
