UB.com Pro Freeroll Challenge Announced
Just days after wrapping up its most successful, most competitive online poker competition in its over 10 year history, UB.com is gearing up for another fiery rivalry. Only this time, it's Team UB who will feel the heat. UB.com today announced the UB.com Pro Freeroll Challenge, an online poker competition consisting of six freerolls spread out over the next year that pits poker pro against poker pro in the ultimate popularity contest.
Beginning late February and running periodically over the next 11 months, one Team UB pro will host a Texas Hold'em freeroll at UB.com. The online poker site is adding $2,000 in cash to the prize pool of each freeroll, but it's the responsibility of the host of each freeroll to make it more attractive. Pros are encouraged to add a lifestyle or once-in-a-lifetime experience component to the prize pool that money just can't buy.
While a $2,000 freeroll is sure to be a magnet for thousands of players, it's each host's responsibility to attract players to their online poker tournament and it's the quality of the added experience that will help them. The better the prize, the easier it will be to entice players to play.
Team UB pros won't be vying for just bragging rights. At the end of the year, the host who attracted the largest number of online poker players to his or her tournament will be declared king or queen of the UB.com Pro Freeroll Challenge. The winning Team UB Pro will receive $2,500 from UB for a night on the town in Vegas to spend any way they please. The Team UB pro who attracts the lowest number of players will be forced to play concierge, doing anything the winner asks to facilitate the night on the town.
UB.com is adding an additional $500 to the final Pro Freeroll Challenge prize. The winner may use the money to ‘tip' the losing Team UB pro at his or her discretion. After the event comes to a close, the winning Team UB pro will chronicle his or her experience on the UB Blog.
