The all-time winningest Breeders' Cup jockey Mike Smith will be riding Yoshida. His payout odds are $80 for every $10 bet. The "Smith factor" certainly provides that extra value.

Yoshida though hasn't had a win since September of last year with the Woodward. He finished 3rd in this year's installment of that race. Yoshida has raced six times since that September 2018 victory, finishing 6th in three of those.
Mike Smith has a record 26 victories in Breeders' Cup races, including four wins in the Classic
Yohida is trained by Bill Mott. Elate is his other entry with slightly more favorable odds of 6-1.
“If he comes out of the Breeders’ Cup Classic in good order, I’d actually like to take him back to New York and maybe give him a try in the Cigar Mile,” Mott said.
Yoshida will come into this race well rested, not having run since August 31.
“We thought what we would try to do is bring him in fresh as we could into the Breeders’ Cup Classic,” the trainer said. “He’s done very well. I think he looks great. I always like a fresh horse and he seems like he’s doing very well right now.”
