If you live in New Jersey and want to bet the Gator Bowl game, you're out of luck unless you happen to have a local bookie or can find an offshore sportsbook that allows NJ residents.  Most don't.  Some of the offshores allow individuals to register with just their name and contact information.

The reason you can't bet this game with the dozen or so apps licensed by the state is a result of regulations prohibiting wagering on games that feature in-state schools or games that feature them.  This includes the 2021 Gator Bowl that pits Wake Forest against Rutgers.

The 5-7 Scarlett Knights were not supposed to be here.  They are replacing Covid ravaged Texas A&M.  The Aggies also had injuries that made it impossible to play in this game.

As one might expect, the spread on this game is significant.  Rutgers is a +16.5 underdog.

The Scarlett Knighs have some value here.  Wake Forest opened with just a one-point overlay and that has expanded.
