While Pennsylvania residents can bet this weekend's Penn State-Rutgers game with in-state licensed sportsbooks, New Jersey residents cannot. That's because New Jersey prohibits its licensed sports betting sites from taking wagers on in-state schools like Rutgers. There are ways around this. With the advent of cryptocurrencies, sites like Americas Bookie no longer require customers to provide a location when signing up.
Sports bettors can wager on all professional and college sports in Pennsylvania. This includes college teams based inside the state. So don't worry, you can still bet on Penn State, Pitt, Temple and St. Joseph's.
The Penn State vs. Rutgers college football game will attract a good number of bettors from both states. It's hard to believe that Rutgers has the better record at 2-4 and have actually looked somewhat decent. Only Ohio State (4-0) and Indiana (5-1) have won more than two games. The Buckeyes have a little Covid problem though.
Rutgers prevailed for a 37-30 road win against Purdue. It was the second conference win of the season for the Scarlet Knights, who had zero wins against conference foes in all of 2018 or 2019.
This game will be played at Noon ET Saturday on either FS1 or Big Ten Network.
