Texas Tech should be a -16.5 favorite versus Montana State.
No. 3 UNC (20-15, 13-7 Big Sky) lost to No. 1 Montana State (27-7, 16-4 Big Sky), 87-66 in the Big Sky Championship game Saturday night. The Bobcats went 27-of-52 (52%) from the floor and 10-of-18 (55.6%) from range.
"It was our best game of the year," Bobcats head coach Danny Sprinkle said, "and I just told (MSU Athletic Director) Leon (Costello), at shootaround this morning I'm going through everything, I'm stressed out, and I heard a couple guys whispering to each other, 'Can you smell the wings? Can you smell the chicken wings?' And it comes back to Fran Frischella talking to us at Colorado at our shootaround. He said, 'There's going to come sometime in January and February when you hit some adversity. And you've got to remind these guys, can you smell the chicken wings? Because everybody on selection Sunday has chicken wings at their party. You have to fight through adversity. You have to see past the moment.'"
Ochai Agbaji returned home this weekend as the Big 12's player of the year, then showed out in front of hundreds of friends and family during the Big 12 Tournament, leading the sixth-ranked Jayhawks to a 74-65 win over Texas Tech on Saturday night to capture not only the title for his team but MVP honors for himself.
It's interesting to note that Texas Tech has performed poorly in conference tournament games dating back to 2016, covering in just one of eight.
In non-conference games since 2016, Texas Tech is 73-13 (84.9%) Straight Up.
As an away Underdog, the Red Raiders are 6-20 (23.1%) Straight Up since 2016.
