The Duke-Notre Dame game Saturday featured a line of Fighting Irish -20.5 after opening at -19.5.
Notre Dame is among the favorites to win the College Football Championship with a payout potential of $1200 on every $100 bet. They are in the ACC with the second shortest odds to win that conference after Clemson. The payout would be $500 for every $100 bet.
The Irish offense averaged 431 yards and 37 points per game last season.
CollegeFootballNews.com says to expect nothing less than a trip to the ACC Championship.
One year in ACC life is going to be fantastic, and this is the season and the time to make a run for something fun – like a conference championship.
There’s nothing boring and there’s nothing to sneeze at when your program is coming up with ten or more wins on a consistent basis.
2020 Notre Dame is absolutely going to be good enough to pull off the win over Clemson in South Bend if everything goes right. It was absolutely going to be good enough to win at USC and slug its way past Wisconsin – which we’re not going to get. However …
It absolutely could also lose at Pitt or get tripped up by an improved North Carolina or Louisville.
But once again, the lines are going to be terrific, the skill guys are solid, and the defense should somewhat quietly be among the nation’s best again. Throw in the luxury – especially this year – of a multi-year returning starting quarterback in Ian Book – along with a few games to getting up to speed with a relatively light first several games – and there’s a whole lot to like.
